RE: ENGAGEMENT WITH THE IEBC ON VOTER REGISTRATION AND VOTING
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is planning to undertake a mapping and assessment exercise in selected European countries, including Ireland, as part of preparations for the implementation of diaspora voter registration and voting.
The exercise seeks to establish the estimated number and geographical distribution of Kenyans living in Ireland, identify areas with high concentrations of Kenyan nationals, evaluate the logistical and operational requirements for electoral activities, and determine appropriate venues for voter registration and voting.
The exercise will also engage Kenyan diaspora associations, professional networks, student groups, and other community organizations to promote stakeholder participation and facilitate information sharing.
While the dates for the exercise will be communicated in due course, the Embassy requests leaders of Kenyan diaspora groups in Ireland to submit their names and those of their members to the Embassy via email info@kenyaembassyireland.net in preparation for the planned engagement.
Asante sana!
